Simple Shelter & Pur Pale
Thursday July 29, 2010

There is a gap between intellect and passion. That gap will be closed by the pooled talents of Simple Shelter and Pur Pale. For one night only, these two powerhouses of talent will take the stage with music and lyrics that embody and embolden the human spirit. This is not merely a music show, but an installation of sound and thought- a multi-media presentation that merges music, philosophy and imagery.

Simple Shelter is the project of Josh Bradford, best known as the lead singer of the Revolting Cocks and Stayte. It was not crafted for the masses of top 40 radio drones. It was created for the exclusive ears of the underground and its denizens who are in search of music that is a little different, a little unpredictable. At first glance, Simple Shelter is a talented rocker. But stand still for a moment and you’ll quickly see that what he produces is a complexly layered cluster of imagination and music. This was a project that was so irresistible Peter Distefano of Porno for Pyros and Paul Barker of Ministry had to get involved. Now Bradford is gracing the stage of the Red Room for an intimate and interactive gathering. This isn’t about people passively watching a performer; it’s about like minded people uniting to create an art montage whose soothing and evocative rock rythms knock us out of our complacency and challenge us to believe in a better world.

Pure Pale is Ryan “Tweek” Clark, a mysterious and troubled musician from Langley. His music transforms the deep challenges of his past into an electronic journey that takes us to the place where sound meets spirit. Ryan has synthesized his dark past and his musical brilliance into a heavy electronic sound that harkens back to the raw early days of Trent Reznor before he started Nine Inch Nails.

Sharpen your creative senses at the Red Room, Thursday, July 29. Josh Bradford has offered to pay the cover of anyone who shows wearing a Carbon6 t-shirt. Not to be outdone, Ryan Clark will give a free cd single to anyone who clicks “attending” on the event page.
